Energy Futures show featured in The National

Last year we developed Energy Futures, a science show themed on energy innovation and future energy. The show was for the Lema? outreach programme run by the Abu Dhabi Department of Education and Knowledge (ADEK).

The National is the Middle East’s leading English language news provider and last week they ran a feature on the Lema? programme and our Energy Futures show.

We debuted the show at the 2017 Abu Dhabi Science Festival, performing Energy Futures to hundreds of families and students based in the Emirate. Since then the show has been taken on tour to schools where in just six weeks it has been seen by over 8,500 students.

The article profiled the success of the outreach initiative in inspiring and engaging young Emiratis with science, technology, engineering and maths subjects. It included a quote from Fatima Al Zaabi, special project programme manager of ADEK highlighting the impact of Lema?, saying:

“I am very pleased to say that this has been another highly successful tour for the Lema? programme. Having spent six weeks travelling the emirate, we have connected with over 15,000 pupils in Abu Dhabi, almost 5,000 in Al Ain and over 3,000 in Al Dhafra. We are greatly encouraged by the reception our new show has received.”

One of the Lema? science communicators has been involved with the programme for three years and said, “When I was young, the education system was nothing like this. I wish we had this option available.”

TalentS|KCA at Think Science, Dubai

Next week the TalentS|KCA team are returning to Dubai for the annual Think Science Fair.

The three-day event in the heart of Dubai provides an opportunity for students to engage with industry professionals, learn about cutting-edge research, try hands-on demonstrations, and be inspired by large scale science shows.

Think Science aims to develop the science skills of young people in the UAE and connect them with the wider world of technology and industry, showcasing the wealth of opportunities open to them within the sector.

Gaetan and Khaled will be back at the show again this year, inspiring visitors with daily explosive and phenomena-based science shows during the fair. This year we have also developed a series of science busking activities and trained volunteers to present them throughout the event.

The show runs from the 18-20th April at the Dubai World Trade Centre. For further information see the poster below (it even features our very own Gaetan).
